GPH ispat, one of the leading steel manufacturers in Bangladesh's construction industry, has once again proven its commitment to responsible business practices by winning the prestigious SDG Brand Champion Award for the second consecutive year. The award, presented in the Responsible Production and Consumption category, highlights GPH ispat's dedication to sustainability and innovation. On behalf of GPH ispat, Mohammed Almas Shimul, Additional Managing Director; Kamrul Islam, FCA, Executive Director, Finance and Business Development; Sharmin Sultan, Chief People Officer; and other senior officials received the award from the chief guest.


The award ceremony, organized by the Bangladesh Brand Forum, took place on September 10, 2024, at a five-star hotel in the capital. The event was attended by top executives from leading businesses, renowned academics, and the award-winning participants. Ms. Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest, Climate Change and Water Resources, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, presented as the Chief Guest.


The SDG Brand Champion Award is one of the most respected recognitions in Bangladesh, with significant national and international acclaim. Winners were selected from a pool of participants in various categories by a panel of expert judges.

GPH ispat has demonstrated its commitment to sustainable production through several initiatives. The company operates a state-of-the-art factory that uses 100% scrap recycling, resulting in a 70% energy savings compared to conventional induction furnaces. The company also ensures that its scrap suppliers adhere to environmental standards, further underlining its dedication to responsible production.
